Description & Context
The IMAGE Policy 2016 declared Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics (AVGC) companies as essential services and tasked TSIIC with developing IMAGE City—a 1.6 million sq ft dedicated AVGC hub in Raidurg, RR District. Incentive administration is managed by the Consultative Committee on Animation & Gaming Industry (CCAGI), a joint government-industry body, with self-certification available under 6 labour acts. The IMAGE Centre of Excellence, launched at STPI-Hyderabad in February 2020, provides skilling, incubation, and R&D support. TASK has significantly grown the AVGC talent pipeline, with the sector largely achieving its 30,000 professional target. IMAGE Tower construction is ongoing.
